Why Handmade Bits and Bobs?
I’m not an artistic person; I can’t draw a convincing stick figure or paint or sculpt. But I believe that we are all creative, and that is important to our spirit and our sanity to find ways to explore that side of ourselves.
As a child, I always dabbled in crafts, often frustrated that things didn’t turn out the way I imagined or how they were pictured: misshapen clay pots, wonky candles, knitted or crocheted blankets that came out more amoeba-shaped than a parallelogram.
Crafting, gardening, cooking, and baking–things that keep my hands busy and my spirit creating–have become increasingly important to me as I’ve gotten older. The outcomes aren’t always successful but I always take away something learned from the process.
I’m always game to try something new, to challenge myself and, with any luck, produce something worth sharing. Please join me–maybe you’ll find some ideas worth trying yourself.
